Nutella Bueno Cupcakes
Ingredients
For the Chocolate Cupcakes:
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup buttermilk
¼ cup hot water or brewed coffee
For the Nutella Filling:
½ cup Nutella
For the Nutella Buttercream Frosting:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
½ cup Nutella
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp heavy cream
For Garnish:
Kinder Bueno pieces or chocolate squares
Instructions
Step 1: Bake the Cupcakes
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk, then mix in hot water or coffee until smooth.
Fill cupcake liners ¾ full and bake for 18-20 minutes. Let cool.
Step 2: Fill with Nutella
Core the center of each cooled cupcake.
Fill with Nutella using a piping bag or spoon.
Step 3: Make the Nutella Buttercream
Beat butter until creamy.
Gradually mix in powdered sugar.
Add Nutella and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth.
Add heavy cream and whip until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Assemble & Decorate
Pipe Nutella buttercream onto cupcakes using a large piping tip.
Top with Kinder Bueno pieces or a chocolate square.
Optionally, drizzle with melted Nutella.
