Scalloped Potatoes - OMG😱 DON'T LOSE THIS😋
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 3 pounds white potatoes, sliced about â…›"" thick
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until softened and fragrant, about 4-5 minutes.
3. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
4. Gradually whisk in milk and chicken broth until smooth. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
5. Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
6. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes evenly. Season with salt and pepper.
7. Pour half of the sauce over the potatoes. Repeat with remaining potatoes and sauce.
8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
