Cheesecake Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
For the cheesecake layer:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
3. In another bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Set aside.
5. In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
6. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
7. Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the brownie layer and spread it gently.
8. Pour the remaining brownie batter over the cheesecake layer and spread carefully to cover.
9. Using a knife or skewer, swirl the layers together to create a marbled effect.
10. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
11. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
