Disney Churro Bites
Ingredients:
For the Churro Bites:
1 cup water
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
Oil (for frying)
For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions:
Prepare the Churro Dough:
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms. Mix until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a ball.
Add Eggs:
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition. The dough should be smooth and somewhat thick.
Heat the Oil:
In a deep frying pan, heat oil to about 350°F (175°C). You need enough oil to fully submerge the churro bites.
Fry the Churro Bites:
Use a pastry bag fitted with a star tip (or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off) to pipe small portions of the dough into the hot oil. Cut the dough pieces to approximately 1-2 inches long.
Fry the churro bites in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan, for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the churro bites and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Prepare the Cinnamon Sugar:
In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Once the churro bites are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.
Serve:
Serve the churro bites warm, optionally with dipping sauces like chocolate or caramel.
Tips:
For added flavor, you can drizzle melted chocolate over the churro bites or serve with a side of whipped cream.
These churro bites are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
