PINAYPAY MARUYA RECIPE

Ingredients
bunch of bananas (ripe)
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
Pich of Salt
Water
food color (orange)
coconut oil or any cooking oil (for frying)
white sugar (for coating)
Instructions
1. Peel the bananas, then cut into 4 sections (vertical) but still attached on the other side. Split the sections slightly like a hand fan (pamaypay).
2. Prepare a batter by combining all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt in a mixing bowl. Then, add enough water to achieve the right consistency of the batter. Add orange food color and mix thoroughly using a wire whisk.
3. Heat oil in a pan to 350°F, coat the bananas with the batter, and then drop them into the hot oil. Once one side is cooked and crispy, flip them to cook the other side.
4. Transfer them to a stainless steel mesh or a plate with a paper towel to drain the excess oil. Coat the banana fritters with sugar, place them on a serving plate, and serve hot.
