I’ve had several people ask for the recipe. I’m not great at recipes because I don’t really measure, I just add things until it tastes good😊. But here goes….
First off the beans are white half runners with what my family always called “new potatoes” and this is how I prepared them:

Finely chop one large white onion and add to a heavy pot with butter. Cook until onions are soft.

Add green beans and chicken broth (u can use water but broth adds some flavor). Also add bacon grease, salt, pepper and garlic powder (use whatever seasonings u like). Bring to a rolling boil then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover with lid and cook for about 30 mins, stirring occasionally, add more broth/water as needed.

After 30 mins add the potatoes and cook an additional 30 mins or so (until ur potatoes are soft and flavorful). I then add some chopped fried bacon at the end….not a fan of soft/chewy bacon. Simmer for an additional 15 minutes or so.

The longer they cook the better they taste! Pair with some buttered corn bread and fresh sliced tomatoes for a delicious meal. Enjoy!
