Heavenly Vanilla banana Cake ππ°
Ingredients:
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts plus extra for garnish
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze
Directions:
Start by preheating your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and greasing a 9x5-inch loaf pan. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamonβset it aside for now. In a larger bowl, cream together your softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until itβs light and fluffy. Now, beat in the eggs one at a time, adding in the mashed bananas, vanilla extract, and sour cream until everythingβs well combined.
Next, gradually mix in your dry ingredients until just combined; be careful not to overmix. Then fold in the chopped walnuts gently. Pour that luscious batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for about 55-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. While it cools, whip up the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until itβs nice and smooth. Drizzle that heavenly glaze over the cooled cake and garnish with extra chopped walnuts for that perfect finishing touch.
Enjoy every slice of this delightful treat! πππ
