Surf & Turf with Garlic Butter Sauce

Ingredients:

2 filet mignon steaks

8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon chopped parsley

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Optional: lemon wedges for serving

Directions:

Pat steaks and shrimp dry. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the filet mignons for 3-4 minutes per side (for medium-rare) or to your desired doneness. Remove and rest.

In the same pan, add the remaining tablespoon olive oil. Cook shrimp for about 1-2 minutes per side until opaque and lightly golden. Remove and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, stir in garlic, lemon juice, thyme, and parsley. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Return steaks and shrimp to the pan. Spoon garlic butter over them for 1-2 minutes, letting the flavors coat the meat and seafood.

Plate the steak and shrimp. Drizzle with additional garlic butter and garnish with lemon wedges and extra parsley if desired.
