Beef Burgers with Mayo & Fried Onions – Juicy, Flavorful & Irresistible

Ingredients:
For the Burgers:
1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for best juiciness)
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For the Fried Onions:
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp sugar (optional, for caramelization)
For Assembly:
4 burger buns (brioche or sesame seed)
¼ cup mayonnaise
4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese (optional)
Lettuce & tomato (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: In a bowl, mix ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce until just combined. Form into 4 equal patties, slightly larger than the buns (they shrink when cooked).

Step 2: Heat a pan or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, flipping once, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). If adding cheese, place a slice on top during the last minute of cooking.

Step 3: While the burgers cook, heat a separate pan over medium heat. Add butter and olive oil, then sauté the onion slices with salt (and sugar if using) for 8–10 minutes until golden and caramelized.

Step 4: Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a pan. Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the buns.

Step 5: Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty on the bottom bun, topping with fried onions, lettuce, and tomato (if using), then covering with the top bun.

Step 6: Serve immediately with fries, coleslaw, or your favorite side dish!
