π Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Wonton Bites π₯
Ingredients
8β10 square wonton wrappers
1 cup (225g) full-fat cream cheese, softened
Β½ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vnilla extract
Β½ cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped (excess juice patted dry)
1 cup neutral oil (such as vegetable or canola), for frying
Extra powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Strawberry jam or coulis, for dipping (optional)
Instructions
Make the filling: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth and airy. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries until evenly incorporated. Avoid overmixing to keep the texture light.
Assemble the wontons: Lay wrappers on a dry surface. Spoon about 1Β½ teaspoons of filling into the center of each. Lightly moisten the edges with water, then fold into triangles or squares, pressing firmly to seal all sides. Ensure no air pockets remain to prevent bursting during frying.
Heat the oil: Pour oil into a deep skillet or small pot to a depth of about 1 inch. Heat over medium-high until it reaches 350Β°F (175Β°C)βor test with a scrap wrapper: it should sizzle and rise immediately.
Fry in batches: Carefully add 3β4 wontons at a time, avoiding crowding. Fry for 2β3 minutes per side, turning once, until deep golden and crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
Serve: Dust lightly with powdered sugar while still warm and serve immediately with a side of strawberry jam or your favorite dipping sauce.
