3-Ingredient Easy Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- ⅔ cup + 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (divided)
- 2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Rainbow sprinkles or nonpareils (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and ⅔ cup granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. Add vanilla extract if using, and mix until combined.
4. Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
5. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
6. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass or your palm.
7. Sprinkle the remaining 3 tablespoons of sugar on top of each cookie, and add sprinkles or nonpareils if desired.
8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
9. Remove from oven and let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
