Grilled Octopus with Lemon and Herbs
Ingredients:
1 lb octopus (fresh or thawed)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
Juice of 1 lemon
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
Prepare the Octopus:
If using frozen octopus, thaw it completely. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Score the tentacles lightly with a sharp knife to help with grilling.
Marinate the Octopus:
In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
Rub the mixture evenly over the octopus, ensuring all pieces are coated. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Grill the Octopus:
Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
Grill the octopus for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden-brown and slightly charred, with crispy edges.
Serve:
Arrange the grilled octopus slices in a sleek black container or plate.
Drizzle with fresh lemon juice and garnish with chopped parsley.
Serve with lemon wedges on the side.
