Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches
Ingredients
For the cheesecake filling:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup diced strawberries
For the sandwiches:
8 slices of white bread
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Vegetable oil for frying
For serving:
Powdered sugar for dusting
Strawberry sauce or whipped cream (optional)
Directions
Prepare the cheesecake filling
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gently fold in the diced strawberries.
Assemble the sandwiches
Spread the cheesecake mixture evenly onto four slices of bread. Place another slice of bread on top to form sandwiches. Press down slightly to seal the edges.
Prepare the coating
In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. In another bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
Fry the sandwiches
Heat about an inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated. Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Coat with cinnamon sugar
While still warm, coat each sandwich in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, ensuring an even layer of sweetness.
Serve and enjoy
Dust with powdered sugar and serve with strawberr
