Sausage with Mashed Potatoes Gravy
Hey friends I want to share one of my favorite week night meals Simple sausages on top of creamy mashed potatoes bathed in rich gravy It always brings smiles around our table and I hope you will love it too
Ingredients:
1. 4 sausage links any flavor you like
2. 4 large potatoes peeled and cut into chunks
3. 2 tablespoons butter
4. 1 1/2 cups milk
5. 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
6. 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
7. Salt and pepper to taste
8. A handful of chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions:
1. Put the potato chunks in a pot of lightly salted water Bring to a boil then simmer for about 15 minutes until potatoes are tender
2. While potatoes cook gently brown sausage links in a skillet over medium heat turn occasionally so they cook evenly about 10 minutes
3. Drain the potatoes then return them to the pot Add butter and half of the milk Mash with a potato masher or fork until smooth Add more milk as needed Season with salt and pepper
4. In the same skillet reduce heat to low Sprinkle in flour Stir to form a thick paste Then slowly whisk in broth and the rest of the milk Cook until gravy thickens about 3 minutes Taste and adjust seasoning
5. Serve a generous scoop of mashed potatoes topped with sausages Drizzle gravy all around and finish with parsley
