🇫🇷 Tarte aux Fraises 🍓 (Strawberry Custard Tart)
Buttery crust, creamy filling, and fresh strawberries—pure French delight in every bite!
📝 Ingredients:
1 shortcrust pastry
500 ml milk
4 egg yolks
100 g sugar
40 g cornstarch
1 tsp vanilla extract
300 g fresh strawberries
Powdered sugar, to finish
👩🍳 Instructions:
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Roll pastry into a tart tin and blind bake for 15 mins. Cool.
2️⃣ For pastry cream: heat milk with vanilla.
3️⃣ Whisk yolks, sugar, and cornstarch. Pour hot milk slowly into the yolk mix, whisking constantly.
4️⃣ Return to pan and cook until thick. Chill.
5️⃣ Fill crust with cooled pastry cream.
6️⃣ Arrange strawberries on top and dust with powdered sugar. Chill before serving.
