Butternut Squash Apple Bake
Ingredients:
- 1 medium butternut squash
- 3 medium apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Peel and cube the butternut squash into bite-sized pieces.
3. Core and slice the apples into thin wedges.
4. In a large bowl, combine the butternut squash, apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
5. Pour the melted butter over the mixture and toss to coat evenly.
6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
7. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top if using.
8. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the squash is tender and the apples are soft.
9. Let cool slightly before serving.
