Ingredients
For the Milkshake
3 cups high-quality vanilla ice cream (dairy or plant-based)
ΒΎ cup cold milk (whole, 2%, or unsweetened almond/oat milk)
2 tablespoons red velvet cake mix (optional, for color and subtle cocoa flavor)
Β½ teaspoon pure peppermint extract (adjust to taste)
2β3 drops red food coloring (optional, for vibrant holiday hue)
For Garnish
Whipped cream (dairy or coconut-based)
Crushed candy canes or peppermint bark
Mini chocolate chips or festive sprinkles
Instructions
Chill your glasses: Place serving glasses in the freezer for 5β10 minutes to keep the milkshake colder longer.
Blend the base: In a high-speed blender, combine vanilla ice cream, milk, red velvet cake mix (if using), peppermint extract, and food coloring (if desired). Blend on medium until smooth, thick, and creamyβabout 30β45 seconds. Avoid over-blending, which can cause melting.
Taste and adjust: Sample a spoonful. Add a touch more peppermint extract for extra minty brightness or a splash of milk if too thick.
