π Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches Recipe π
Ingredients:
8 thick slices of slightly stale brioche bread (or challah as alternative)
8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
ΒΌ cup powdered sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1Β½ cups fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
ΒΌ cup strawberry jam
3 large eggs
Β½ cup whole milk
2 tbsp unsalted butter
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Cream Cheese Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until light and fluffy. Set aside.
Assemble the Sandwiches
Lay out bread slices. Spread cream cheese mixture evenly on four slices. Top each with strawberry slices and a drizzle of jam. Cover with remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
Create the Egg Mixture
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
Soak the Sandwiches
Gently dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, allowing about 10 seconds per side. Let excess drip off before cooking.
Cook to Perfection
Heat a skillet over medium heat with butter. Once melted and lightly bubbling, cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Maintain moderate heat to ensure filling warms through without burning the bread.
Rest and Serve
Allow sandwiches to rest on paper towels for 30 seconds to absorb excess butter. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve immediately while warm and gooey.
