A show-stopping fusion of two beloved desserts β beautifully layered, irresistibly smooth, and perfect for any celebration.
π Ingredients
For the Red Velvet Cake Layer:
β’ 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
β’ ΒΎ cup (150g) granulated sugar
β’ 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
β’ Β½ tsp baking soda
β’ ΒΌ tsp salt
β’ Β½ cup (120ml) buttermilk
β’ Β½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
β’ 1 large egg
β’ 1 tsp white vinegar
β’ 1 tsp vanilla extract
β’ 1 tbsp red food coloring (liquid or gel)
For the Cheesecake Layer:
β’ 2 (8 oz / 225g) blocks cream cheese, softened
β’ Β½ cup (100g) granulated sugar
β’ 2 large eggs
β’ 1 tsp vanilla extract
β’ ΒΌ cup (60ml) sour cream
For the Topping (Optional but amazing):
β’ Whipped cream or cream cheese frosting
β’ White chocolate shavings or red velvet cake crumbs

1. Prepare the Red Velvet Cake Batter
β’ Preheat oven to 325Β°F (160Β°C). Grease and line a 9-inch (23 cm) springform pan with parchment paper.
β’ In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
β’ In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, oil, egg, vinegar, vanilla, and red food coloring.
β’ Combine wet and dry ingredients just until smooth. Set aside.
2. Make the Cheesecake Batter
β’ In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
β’ Add sugar and mix until combined.
β’ Beat in eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla and sour cream. Mix until velvety.
3. Assemble the Cake
β’ Pour the red velvet batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out.
β’ Gently spoon the cheesecake batter over the top β spreading carefully so it covers evenly. The batters will stay in two layers as they bake.
4. Bake
β’ Bake for 50β60 minutes, or until the center is set and only slightly wobbly when jiggled.
β’ Turn off the oven, crack the oven door, and let the cake cool inside for 1 hour.
β’ Then refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
5. Decorate and Serve
β’ Before serving, top with whipped cream or a light layer of cream cheese frosting.
β’ Garnish with white chocolate curls, red velvet crumbs, or fresh berries for extra flair.
