Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (15 oz each) baked beans (or pork and beans)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce** (your favorite kind)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp mustard (yellow or Dijon)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika (optional)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup crushed corn chips or breadcrumbs (for topping)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Brown the beef: In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and bell pepper over medium heat until the beef is no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
3. Add flavor: Stir in garlic, baked beans, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Transfer & top: Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish (or similar). Sprinkle shredded cheese and crushed corn chips on top.
5. Bake: Place in the oven for 15–20 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
