Instructions
1️⃣ Boil the Octopus
Fill a large pot with water. Add onion, garlic, bay leaf, lemon slices, and black peppercorns. Bring to a boil.
Gently add the whole octopus to the boiling water. Reduce heat to a simmer.
Simmer for 40-50 minutes or until the octopus is fork-tender.
Remove the octopus from the pot and let it cool. Pat it dry with paper towels.
2️⃣ Marinate the Octopus
Cut the octopus into large pieces (tentacles work best for grilling).
In a bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
Toss the octopus pieces in the marinade, coating them well. Let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
3️⃣ Grill the Octopus
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Grill the octopus for 3-4 minutes per side or until charred and crispy on the edges.
Remove from the grill and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top.
4️⃣ Serve & Garnish
Plate the grilled octopus on a platter.
Garnish with fresh parsley, red chili flakes (optional), and extra lemon wedges.
This Grilled Octopus is tender, smoky, and perfectly charred on the outside. Pair it with a fresh salad, garlic bread, or roasted potatoes for an unforgettable Mediterranean-inspired meal!
