Chocolate Hazelnut Explosion Layer Cake 🍫🌰
Ingredients:
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups sugar
¾ cup cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1 ½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup milk
½ cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
1 cup hazelnut spread (e.g. Nutella)
1 ½ cups heavy cream
8 oz dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup toasted hazelnuts, chopped
Chocolate truffles for decoration
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round pans.
Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla; beat until combined. Stir in boiling water.
Divide batter into pans and bake for 30-35 mins. Cool completely.
For frosting: Heat heavy cream and pour over chopped chocolate. Stir in hazelnut spread.
Layer cakes with frosting. Decorate with toasted hazelnuts and chocolate truffles.
Notes:
For a richer flavor, refrigerate the cake for an hour before serving!
