Ingredients:

For the Crust:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
¼ cup brown sugar

For the Filling:
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup corn syrup
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp salt

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8-inch or 9x9-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

Make the crust: In a medium bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and softened butter until crumbly. Press evenly into the bottom of the pan.

Bake the crust for 15 minutes until lightly golden.

Prepare the filling: In another bowl, whisk together corn syrup, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.

Pour the filling over the warm crust and spread evenly.

Return to the oven and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is set and edges are golden.

Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.
