Homemade Spaghetti
Ingredients
- Spaghetti pasta
- Olive oil
- Garlic, minced
- Canned tomatoes or fresh tomatoes, chopped
- Salt
- Pepper
- Fresh basil or dried oregano
- Parmesan cheese, grated
Directions
1. Start by bringing a big pot of water to a rolling boil and sprinkle in a generous pinch of salt. Add your spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until it’s just al dente.
2. While your pasta cooks, set a pan over medium heat and warm up a splash of olive oil. Add the minced garlic and let it sizzle until fragrant—just enough to let the aroma fill your kitchen.
3. Carefully add your canned or fresh tomatoes to the pan, giving them a good stir with the garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and your choice of fresh basil or dried oregano. Let the sauce simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
4. Once your spaghetti is cooked, drain it and add it straight into the sauce. Toss everything together so the pasta gets coated in all that lovely flavor.
5. Dish it up hot, finishing with a generous sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese and a flourish of fresh basil if you have it on hand. Enjoy every bite!
