Homemade Almond Joy Candy Bars π«π₯₯π°
Ingredients (Makes about 12 bars)
For the Coconut Filling:
2 cups shredded sweetened coconut π₯₯
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk π₯
1 teaspoon vanilla extract πΌ
For Assembly:
12 whole almonds π°
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips π«
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate) π₯₯β¨
Instructions
Prepare the Coconut Mixture:
In a bowl, mix the shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until well combined. The mixture should be sticky but moldable. π₯₯β¨
Shape the Bars:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop about 1β2 tablespoons of the coconut mixture and shape it into a rectangular bar with your hands. Place on the baking sheet. Repeat for the remaining mixture.
Add Almonds:
Press one almond on top of each coconut bar. Chill the bars in the freezer for about 20β30 minutes until firm. βοΈπ°
Melt the Chocolate:
Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Add coconut oil for a shinier coating, if desired. π«β¨
Coat the Bars:
Using a fork, dip each chilled bar into the melted chocolate, making sure itβs fully coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off before placing the bar back onto the parchment paper. Repeat with all bars.
Set the Chocolate:
Allow the bars to set at room temperature, or place them in the fridge for about 15β20 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
Serve:
Enjoy your homemade Almond Joy bars! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. π°π«β¨
Tips:
Use dark chocolate for a less sweet version. π«
For a nut-free version, omit the almonds and make classic coconut bars. π₯₯
Drizzle extra chocolate on top for a decorative touch! β¨
Enjoy your sweet, nutty, and coconut-filled treats! π₯°π«π°
