Cookies & Cream Deep-Fried Cheesecake Rolls
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
- 8 spring roll wrappers
- 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for dusting)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for dusting)
- Whipped cream, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until it’s velvety smooth. You want it to be creamy and dreamy, just like your favorite cheesecake!
2. Gently fold in the crushed chocolate sandwich cookies, making sure to leave some chunks for that delightful crunch.
3. Take a spring roll wrapper and lay it flat on a clean surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the cheesecake mixture onto the wrapper, then fold in the sides and roll it up tightly like a little present.
4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. You want it hot enough to sizzle but not so hot that it smokes!
5. Once the oil is ready, carefully place the cheesecake rolls in the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry until they’re crispy golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Keep an eye on them; you want them to be perfectly golden and not burnt!
6. While the rolls are frying, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a shallow dish.
7. Once the rolls are done, remove them from the oil and let them drain on a paper towel for a moment. Then, while they’re still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture for that extra sweet touch.
8. Serve these ooey-gooey delights warm, with a dollop of whipped cream on the side if you’re feeling extra indulgent. Trust me, you won’t want to miss out on this treat!
