Pancake Sausage Casserole
Ingredients:
• 1 roll (1 lb) sausage
• 2.5 cups pancake mix
• Milk (enough to reach desired consistency)
• 1 cup Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup (or any maple syrup)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Sausage:
• In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, breaking it into crumbles.
• Drain excess grease and set aside.
2. Prepare the Batter:
• In a mixing bowl, combine pancake mix and milk, adjusting until the batter reaches your preferred consistency (smooth and pourable).
• Stir in 1 cup of syrup until well combined.
3. Assemble the Casserole:
• Pour the pancake batter into a greased baking dish.
• Evenly distribute the cooked sausage over the top.
4. Bake:
• Bake at 350°F (175°C) until the top is golden brown, about 25-30 minutes (or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean).
5. Serve:
• Let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve warm.
• Optionally, drizzle with extra syrup for added sweetness!
