🍮 Decadent Caramel Cake

Layers of moist cake paired with rich, buttery caramel — a truly indulgent dessert that will impress anyone at the table!



🧁 Cake Ingredients
• 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
• 2 ½ tsp baking powder
• ½ tsp baking soda
• ½ tsp salt
• 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
• 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
• 4 large eggs
• 2 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 ½ cups (360ml) buttermilk



🍮 Caramel Filling & Frosting Ingredients
• 2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
• ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter
• 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ tsp salt



🍰 Cake Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line three 8-inch round cake pans.

2️⃣ Mix dry ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3️⃣ Cream butter and sugar:
In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

4️⃣ Combine wet and dry ingredients:
Alternately add the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix just until combined.

5️⃣ Bake:
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared pans. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.



🍮 Caramel Filling & Frosting Instructions

1️⃣ In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns a deep amber color.

2️⃣ Carefully stir in the butter. Slowly add the cream while whisking (it will bubble).

3️⃣ Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt. Let cool until slightly thickened but still spreadable.



🎂 Assemble the Cake

1️⃣ Place the first cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of caramel filling over it.

2️⃣ Add the second cake layer and spread more caramel.

3️⃣ Place the third cake layer on top and cover the entire cake with the remaining caramel frosting.

4️⃣ Drizzle extra caramel on top and, if desired, decorate with swirls or caramel shards for a stunning finish.



✨ Tip: Chill the cake for 30 minutes before serving to help the caramel set and make slicing cleaner.
