Hamburger patties smothered in onions, mushrooms, & brown gravy. My mother used to make this, without the mushrooms, since Daddy didn’t eat fungus. Brings back childhood memories.

But before anyone says anything, I want to address the paper plate. I am living in an off-grid cabin with no access to water other than rain collection. We are in a drought situation, and my rain barrels are almost empty. All my water is brought in from other sources. I don’t wash anything I don’t have to. And the used paper plates are pretty good fire starter for the wood stove. Ordinarily I would not use them, but in this situation, they are a necessity.
