Taco Bell Wild Sauce
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons pickled jalapeño peppers, finely minced
3 cups water
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
3 tablespoons vinegar
¼ teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon sugar
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons salt
Instructions:
Combine base: In a saucepan, whisk together the tomato paste and water until smooth.
Add seasonings: Stir in all remaining ingredients.
Cook: Bring the mixture to a boil and stir continuously for 1 minute.
Cool: Remove from heat and let the sauce cool completely.
Store: Pour into an airtight container and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes:
Adjust spice level by reducing or increasing the jalapeños, cayenne, or Tabasco.
Letting the sauce chill enhances the flavor.
Great on tacos, nachos, burgers, pizza, or as a dip for onion rings and mozzarella sticks.
Keeps well in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
