Classic Moist Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
Directions:
Preheat the Oven & Prepare Pans: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line them with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. This ensures your dry ingredients are well-mixed and light.
Add the Wet Ingredients: Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat everything together on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth and well-combined.
Stir in the Boiling Water: Gradually stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thinner than usual, but that's what makes it so wonderfully moist!
Pour & Bake: Pour the batter evenly into your prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
Cool the Cakes: Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve & Enjoy: Once cooled, frost as desired, slice, and indulge in every moist, rich, chocolatey bite!
