BBQ Beef Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
4 slices of thick-cut bread (sourdough or Texas toast works great)
1 lb of leftover grilled steak (sliced thinly)
1 medium onion (caramelized)
4 slices of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite type)
1/4 cup BBQ sauce (use your favorite BBQ sauce)
2 tablespoons butter (for grilling)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Step 1: Caramelize the Onions
Slice the onion thinly.
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil or butter.
Cook the onions, stirring frequently, until they become golden and soft, about 10 minutes.
Add a pinch of salt and pepper, and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Beef
Slice your leftover grilled steak into thin strips.
In a small pan, warm the steak slices with a tablespoon of BBQ sauce for extra flavor.
Stir until the beef is heated through and well-coated with the sauce.
Step 3: Assemble the Sandwich
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
On the non-buttered side, layer a slice of cheese, some warm BBQ beef, a generous spoonful of caramelized onions, and another slice of cheese.
Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
Step 4: Grill the Sandwich
Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Grill the sandwich until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Press down gently with a spatula to make sure everything melts together.
Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!
Once the sandwich is crispy and golden, remove from the skillet.
Let it rest for a minute, then slice it in half.
Serve with extra BBQ sauce for dipping and enjoy!
This sandwich is the perfect blend of savory grilled beef, melted cheese, and caramelized onions all nestled between crispy, buttery bread. Enjoy!
