Ingredients:
- 1 cup (160g) chickpea flour (besan)
- 1 cup (240ml) water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together chickpea flour, turmeric powder, cumin powder, salt, and black pepper.
2. Gradually add water, whisking continuously to avoid lumps, until a smooth batter forms. Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.
3. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with olive oil or cooking spray.
4. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the hot skillet and quickly spread it into a thin circle using the back of a spoon or by swirling the pan.
5. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the edges start to lift and the flatbread is golden brown and cooked through.
6. Remove from skillet and repeat with the remaining batter.
7. Serve warm as wraps, with dips, curries, or as a flavorful side. Store leftover flatbreads in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
