Creamy Basil and Garlic Pasta with Burrata
Ingredients:
For the Pasta:
12 oz fettuccine or spaghetti
2 tbsp olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
1 large ball burrata cheese, torn into pieces
Directions:
Cook pasta according to package instructions in salted water. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring to a gentle simmer, then add Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce. If needed, add reserved pasta water a little at a time for a silkier consistency.
Stir in the chopped fresh basil and remove from heat.
Plate the pasta and top with torn burrata pieces. Let the heat from the pasta slightly melt the burrata.
Serve immediately, garnished with additional basil and a drizzle of olive oil if desired. Enjoy!
