Snickerdoodle Cream Cheese Apple Pie
Ingredients:
- 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
- 3 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, toss apple slices with 1/2 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and lemon juice. Set aside.
3. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add 1/3 cup sugar, egg, vanilla extract, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour; mix until creamy and well combined.
4. Pour the cream cheese mixture into the bottom of the unbaked pie crust and spread evenly.
5. Arrange the apple mixture evenly over the cream cheese layer.
6. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, brown sugar, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Drizzle this mixture evenly over the apples.
7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown. If the crust browns too quickly, cover edges with foil.
8. Allow the pie to cool before serving to let the filling set.
