Chocolate Buttercream Frosting
Ingredients:
- 2 cups butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2-1/2 cups baking cocoa, sifted
- 9 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
- 1 to 1-1/2 cups whole milk
Directions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy and smooth.
2. Add the vanilla extract and sifted baking cocoa to the butter, mixing until well combined.
3. Gradually add the sifted confectioners' sugar, about one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Slowly add the milk, starting with 1 cup, and continue beating until the frosting reaches a smooth, spreadable consistency. Add more milk if needed to achieve the desired texture.
5. Once all ingredients are fully incorporated, continue beating for another 2-3 minutes to ensure the frosting is light and fluffy.
6. Use immediately to frost cakes, cupcakes, or cookies, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.
