Funnel Cake Fries

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Vegetable oil, for frying

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Directions:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk and vanilla extract, mixing well.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking until you get a smooth, pourable batter.

Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or heavy pot over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).

Transfer the batter to a squeeze bottle, piping bag, or large zip-top bag with the tip snipped off.

Squeeze long strips of batter (about 4–5 inches each) directly into the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp.

Remove the fries with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

While still warm, dust generously with powdered sugar. Serve immediately.
