4th of July Ocean Fireworks Jar
🛒 Supplies Needed:
Makes 1 jar
- 1 clean clear jar or bottle with lid (mason jar, Voss bottle, etc.)
- ½ cup baby oil or vegetable oil
- 1 cup warm water
- Few drops each of red, white, and blue food coloring
- Silver glitter or star confetti
- Optional: 1 tsp dish soap (adds bubble movement)
- Optional: mini shells, beads, or plastic sea creatures

👩🔬 Directions:
Step 1: Fill Your Jar
Add 1 cup of warm water to the jar.
Stir in silver glitter, confetti, and optional ocean-themed items (like mini shells).
Step 2: Mix the Color Bombs
In a separate small cup, mix 2–3 tablespoons of oil with a few drops of food coloring—red, white (use opaque white or leave blank for swirl), and blue.
Gently stir to create suspended blobs.
Step 3: Add the Fireworks
Slowly pour the colored oil mixture into the water jar.
Watch as the food coloring breaks through the oil layer and bursts like fireworks, swirling through the glitter and shimmering "ocean."
Step 4: Seal & Shake (Gently)
Optional: Add dish soap to create more flow and bubbles.
Seal the jar tightly (hot glue or tape the lid for little ones).
Gently tilt or shake and let the fireworks swirl through the “waves.”
