Unstuffed Cabbage Roll Skillet
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef (450g) 🥩
1/2 head of cabbage, chopped 🥬
1 onion, diced 🧅
2 cloves garlic, minced 🧄
1 can diced tomatoes (14 oz) or 2-3 fresh tomatoes, chopped 🍅
1 tbsp tomato paste (optional for extra richness) 🍅
1 tbsp olive oil 🛢️
Salt & pepper to taste 🧂
1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning or oregano 🌿
Directions:
1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft.
2. Add garlic and ground beef. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
3. Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook for about 5 minutes, until it starts to soften.
4. Add diced tomatoes (and tomato paste if using), seasonings, and a splash of water if needed. Stir well.
5. Cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until the cabbage is tender and the flavors are blended.
6. Taste and adjust seasoning. Serve hot!
