Ingredients:
- 250g (9 oz) fettuccine or linguine
- 1 tbsp salt (for boiling water)
- 12-15 large shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust for heat)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional for a creamy version)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tbsp lemon zest (optional)

Directions:
1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
2. Cook the Shrimp: In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Add butter and lemon juice, tossing to coat, then remove from the pan and set aside.
3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same pan, add heavy cream (if using) and the reserved pasta water. Stir in the Parmesan cheese until it melts and combines nicely. Add the cooked pasta and gently toss to coat.
4. Combine & Serve: Bring the shrimp back to the pan and mix everything together. Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon zest for an added touch of freshness. Serve hot and enjoy this lovely dish!
