Ingredients
For the Cupcakes:

β’ 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
For Garnish:

Instructions
1 Prepare the Cupcakes:
β¦ Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
β¦ In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
β¦ In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
β¦ Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
β¦ Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with sour cream and espresso, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

2 Prepare the Frosting:
β¦ In a mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
β¦ Fold in the whipped cream gently to maintain the airy texture. Chill until ready to use.
3 Assemble the Cupcakes:
β¦ If using the coffee soak, mix the espresso and coffee liqueur. Lightly brush the tops of the cooled cupcakes with the soak.
