Deep Fried Marshmallows
Ingredients:
- 20 large marshmallows
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Directions:
1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
3. Gradually add cold water and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
4. Skewer each marshmallow on a wooden stick or fork.
5. Dip each marshmallow into the batter, fully coating it.
6. Carefully lower the coated marshmallows into the hot oil and fry for 1-2 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
7. Use a slotted spoon to remove the marshmallows and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
8. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
