Praline Crunch
Ingredients:
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Directions:
1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir gently until sugar dissolves.
2. Increase heat and bring to a boil without stirring until the mixture turns a deep amber color, about 8-10 minutes.
3. Remove from heat and quickly stir in chopped pecans, butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
4. Carefully pour in the heavy cream while stirring continuously; the mixture will bubble vigorously.
5. Return the pan to low heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes.
6. Pour the praline mixture onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread evenly.
7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into crunchy pieces.
