Savory Baked Pepperoni Rolls
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of pizza dough or pre-made bread dough
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for brushing
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Prepare the dough: Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangular shape, about 12x8 inches.
3. Layer the ingredients: Evenly sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Add sliced pepperoni evenly over the cheese. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Roll: Carefully roll the dough tightly from the short end to form a log. Pinch the seam to seal.
5. Bake: Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch pieces and place them on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up. Brush the tops with olive oil.
6. Cook: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbling.
7. Serve: Allow to cool slightly, then serve with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
