Hawaiian Style Teriyaki ChickenπΊππ
Ingredients:
3 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken thigh π
1 cup of soy sauce πΆ
1 cup of pineapple juice (or add pineapple chunks with juice) π
1 cup of brown sugar, packed π―
5 cloves of garlic, mashed π§
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced π±
Instructions:
Marinate the Chicken: π₯£ In a large bowl, mix together the pineapple juice, soy sauce, and brown sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Add in the minced ginger and mashed garlic. Then, add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are well coated. π
Marinating Time: If time allows, marinate the chicken for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. If you're in a hurry, at least 24 hours will suffice. π
Cooking Options:
Grill Method: π₯ Preheat your grill to high heat. Grill the chicken as you would any other meat. After grilling, place the chicken in a pot on the grill. Add a little fresh teriyaki sauce, and let it steam in the pot to keep the chicken tender and juicy. ππ
Stir-Fry Method: π³ Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces. Heat a little sesame oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sautΓ© until browned on the outside. Pour in the sauce and simmer until the sauce thickens and the chicken is cooked through. π₯’
Stove Top Method: π² Sear whole chicken thighs on each side in a large skillet until golden brown. Add the sauce and simmer until the sauce has reduced and the chicken is cooked through (similar to Shoyu Chicken). π₯
Crock Pot / Instant Pot: π² If using a slow cooker or pressure cooker, simmer the sauce separately on the stove until it thickens (about 20-30 minutes). Pour the sauce over the chicken in the cooker. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. ππ²
Baking Method: π Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Place the chicken pieces in a baking dish and pour 1-2 cups of the homemade teriyaki sauce over the top. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, brushing with sauce halfway through. The chicken is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 165Β°F (74Β°C). ππ‘οΈ
