Fried Mashed Potato Balls 🥔✨
Deliciously crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside!
📋 Ingredients
- 2 cups mashed potatoes, chilled
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Salt and pepper, to taste
📝 Instructions
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chilled mashed potatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix until well combined.
2. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the mashed potato mixture and roll them into balls using your hands.
3. Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs into three separate shallow bowls.
4. Roll each mashed potato ball in the flour, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it evenly with breadcrumbs. Repeat with the remaining mashed potato balls.
5. In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
6. Carefully place the coated mashed potato balls into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the skillet. Fry for 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
7. Remove the fried mashed potato balls from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
8. Serve the fried mashed potato balls hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
