Steak & Caramelized Onion Burger with Creamy Garlic Sauce
Ingredients:
2 sesame seed burger buns
8 oz thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 slices provolone or Swiss cheese (optional)
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp garlic powder or roasted garlic
1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp lemon juice
Instructions:
Caramelize onions: Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, for 25–30 minutes until deep golden brown.
Prepare sauce: In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, garlic powder, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice until smooth.
Sear steak: Season sliced steak with salt and pepper. Sear in a hot skillet for 1–2 minutes per side, until browned but still tender.
Toast buns: Lightly toast the sesame buns on a skillet or under a broiler.
Assemble burger: Spread garlic sauce on both buns. Layer steak, caramelized onions, and cheese (if using). Top with the bun.
