Surf and Turf Skillet with Garlic Butter Sauce
Ingredients:
2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (8 oz each)
1/2 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
Remove steaks from the fridge and let sit at room temperature for 20 minutes. Pat dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
In a large cast iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes per side (depending on thickness) or until desired doneness. Remove steaks and let rest.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 1 minute).
Add shrimp to the skillet, season with paprika, and cook 1-2 minutes per side or until pink and opaque.
Return steaks to the skillet, spoon garlic butter over both shrimp and steak, and drizzle with lemon juice.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
