🇫🇷 Pot-au-Feu (French Beef Stew)
A traditional French comfort dish with tender beef and root vegetables in a rich broth.
Ingredients:
• 1 pound beef chuck or brisket
• 2 carrots, chopped
• 2 potatoes, chopped
• 1 leek, sliced
• 1 onion, halved
• 2 garlic cloves
• 1 bay leaf
• A few peppercorns
• Salt to taste
• Water to cover
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, place the beef, onion, garlic, and bay leaf. Cover with water and bring to a boil.
2. Skim off foam, reduce heat, and simmer for 1 hour.
3. Add carrots, potatoes, leek, and seasonings. Simmer for another 45 minutes.
4. Remove meat and vegetables, strain broth.
5. Serve beef sliced with vegetables and hot broth poured over.
