🇫🇷 Dinde aux Marrons (Turkey with Chestnuts) 🦃🌰
A classic French holiday dish! Juicy roasted turkey paired with sweet chestnuts and root vegetables – festive and full of flavor.
📝 Ingredients
• 1 whole turkey (about 3–4 kg)
• 300 g cooked chestnuts
• 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
• 2 onions, quartered
• 4 cloves garlic
• 2 tbsp butter
• 100 ml chicken broth
• Salt & pepper
• Fresh rosemary
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
2️⃣ Rub the turkey with butter, season inside and out with salt and pepper.
3️⃣ Stuff turkey cavity with garlic, rosemary, and half the chestnuts.
4️⃣ Place in a roasting pan with carrots and onions around.
5️⃣ Pour broth into the pan and roast for 2.5–3 hours, basting occasionally.
6️⃣ In the last 30 minutes, add remaining chestnuts to the pan.
7️⃣ Serve hot with pan juices and roasted vegetables.
